An astonishing debut feature by director David Volach that recalls one of the most powerful Jewish stories - Abraham’s sacrifice of his son Isaac. Director and writer Volach knows intimately about this world, since he was born into an ultra-Orthodox family of 19 children and lived and studied as a Hassidic scholar until he was 25 years old. The film depicts Rabbi Abraham, who lives with his wife and son in an ultra- Orthodox community in Jerusalem. He is a man devoted to a life of study and worship, who hopes to impart his faith to his young son Menachem. On a summer vacation to the Dead Sea the faith of the Rabbi is put to a severe test.
