One of the first Israeli features by women directors, Tel Aviv Stories marks a turning point in local filmmaking in its focus on three young women in early 1990s Tel Aviv. The film, which won four Israeli Academy awards, is made up of three episodes, each dedicated to a day in the life of a woman.

Sahrona Honey is the story of an attractive stylist (Yael Abecassis), pursued by a quartet of men, all of whom want her to bear their child - none of whom have the slightest interest in discovering who she is...

In Operation Cat, a recently separated woman frantically tries to get the authorities to remove the obstacles which prevent a kitten from being rescued from a sewer.

Divorce, the last episode, is a fascinating thriller type narrative which focuses on Tikvah (Anat Waxman) and shows just how far an aggrieved police woman will go to prevent her husband from leaving the country without giving her a divorce.

A unique opportunity to watch some of Israeli cinema’s great talents and trends in the making.

Director Ayelet Menahemi will attend the screening which will be followed by a Q&A.
