Two grants of up to £10,000 are being made available by The Pears Foundation UKJFF Short Film Fund for the production of a short film or video – drama, animation or factual – with a Jewish theme of significance to both Jewish and general public audiences and a maximum length of 10 minutes. The scheme is open to all filmmakers resident in the UK.

  • No supporting materials required with initial application.
  • Postal applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants are welcome to submit projects that are already part-funded. No restrictions on finding additional funds elsewhere if necessary.
  • Deadline for applications is 14th January 2009.

Judging

Judging panel drawn from across British film and television industry.

Short-listed candidates will need to provide examples of previous work or proof of competence as filmmakers. They might also be asked to submit a basic budget, schedule, and list of talent involved with production.

Winner

Successful applicants will enter into a short agreement with UKJFF for the provision of the grant.

Film or video to be completed by 31 August 2009, of a quality technically acceptable for both broadcast and cinema screenings.

Winning film or video must include UKJFF logo and acknowledge financial support by the UK JFF in its credits, as well as any publicity or promotional material connected with the project.

First public screening at UK Jewish Film Festival in Autumn 2009.
